Slip-On Flange

The slip-On flange is a very popular pipe flange. It was designed to slide over the pipe. It was allowed welding on both the outer diameter and inside diameter. It wasn't like a weld neck flange. It has no weld bevel. It's flexible to adjust the pipe length when installation.

The opening a hole of slip-On flange provides enough space for matching the pipe flange sizes. It's easy to connect fillet weld. It's used in low and medium pressure applications. it has a raised. It uses annular flanges when space is limited.

As higher pressure ratings, the slip-On flange can be designed as a lap hub.It can enhance the connection. It makes them become a cost-effective alternative to long weld neck flanges. It provide an excellent reliability in mechanical stress environments.

The slip-On flange has carbon steel flanges, stainless steel flanges and customization options. It's suitable with ANSI B16.5 flange sizes, 150# flanges, 300# flanges and other standard pipe flange types.Whether it is a blind flange connection, sleeve welding flange, lap application,it offers a quick installation, flexible positioning and more durable.

Product application

Due to powerful comprehensive performance and wide practicality for flange products, they have been applied in many engineering fields. The application areas include light and heavy industry, petrochemicals, offshore oil, shipbuilding, drainage, water supply, construction, pipelines, fire protection, power, aerospace.

①  What is a slip-on flange and how does it work?

A slip-on flange is a type of pipe flange. Firstly,it slides to the end of the pipe .Then It's fixed with bolts and aligned with the  holes. It's designed as a hole slightly larger than the pipe. As we know that it's easy to slip before being tightened. It is usually used in low-pressure and medium-pressure systems.

②  What is the important advantage of using a slip-on flange?

As we know the design is quick assembly. It doesn't neeed any complex welding and calibration.Time makes it become an ideal project .The slip-on flange is usually cheaper than a welded neck flange and a blind flange. because its design and manufacturing processes is more simple.

③  In which applications is a slip - on flange suitable?

The slip-on flange isn't suitable for handling high-pressure and high-temperature systems. it's  suitable for standard applications where pressure isn't affected.you should know the slip-on flange is a good choice,if you have no more budget  and no need the strength and durability of more expensive flange.

④  When is a slip-on flange not the good choice for my project?

The slip-on flange isn't for high-pressure systems. It doen't work  or leak under terrible pressure.we should know the design of a slip-on flange doen't provide the same anti-vibration capacity like other flange types, which is welded or socket-welded flanges. As time goes by, the connection failure.

⑤  What are the steps to install a slip-on flange?

When installing a slip-on flange ,Firstly, you should make sure there is nothing inside the flange . Then slide the slip-on flange over the end of the pipe. You should make the flange fit tightly, but no need force. You should spin a slip-on flange, until the hole of the bolt suitable for the pipe and fittting. You should put the bolts into the alignment holes and tighten the bolts alternately. Finally you should make the pressure equation distributed to achieve an appropriate seal.
